BELIZE SAILING
CHARTERS has recently added vessels to be let out on bareboat basis
to experienced sailors. At Belize Sailing Charters we are deeply
committed to the protection and preservation of Belize’s fragile
reef eco-system, therefore our requirements for bareboat charter
operation are strict. Bareboat chartering in Belize is currently
under careful scrutiny by several government agencies as well as
eco-touring organizations and environmentalist groups. If you elect
to bareboat charter in Belize please remember to respect her precious
natural resourses.
You may have
sailed in twenty countries around the world and be an experienced
sailor and navigator. Belize has over 3,000 square miles of cruising
waters, hundreds of islands and countless coral reefs. There are
few man made aids to navigation and the cruising guides available
contain many dangerous errors and omissions. This poses unique challenges
to even the most experienced navigator. For this reason Belize Sailing
Charters has added a “Marine Guide” option to our bareboat
offering, kind of a “man Friday” if you will. An experienced
local guide can make valuable contributions to your Belize sailing
charter. She or he can help you find that secluded anchorage, show
you the fishing and diving hot spots, help you view and identify
marine life and introduce you to local customs and people. Our guides
are also trained mates and can assist in boat handling, cleaning,
cleaning fish and cooking, especially local coastal cuisine.
Nothing can
dampen the spirit of a great sailing adventure more than an accidental
grounding not to mention the devastating effects on the reef. We
invite you to sail in Belize, discover her spectacular reefs and
cayes and enjoy and respect this fragile environment. If you decide
to bareboat with us, especially if this is your first visit, consider
the advantages of having an extra hand on board--cost, from only
$75 per day.
